An Evening at Logos July Bookclub with Oscar Wilde Original Selfie Portrait: The Picture of Dorian Gray

One Wing of our July 2014 Logos Book Club - Peter G Pereira

I had time to draw inspiration over the past July 4th Weekend from many sources...here I literally drew on our wonderful and eclectic guests, friends and fellow readers at Logos Bookstore as we spent time on what I've come to call Oscar Wilde Original Selfie...an impossible 180 degree turn of mirrored fate made so vital in this tale of self adulation and buyer's remorse...and woe to the messenger.
A great evening.
I placed one of my earlier 1991 oil paintings in the South Window for week called the Red Door...an Surreal work of simultaneous interiors and  exteriors. Strangely the Painting suited this Wilde Book of the Month in its simple complexity...Notions trading ideal positions with merry go round Pi as a modulus; with time, timing and timelessness in one Paradoxical  Self as the movable parts in an Unchanging Picture of Change.
