Crosses and Menorahs I - My Limited Series Exploring the Symbols and Spirit - Photographs and Short Films

Over the Past several Weeks I have been Exploring or Revisiting in 3 Dimensional Sculptural Representations the Complex Ancient Surfaces of Crosses and Menorahs.

One Born of Crucifixion and Death, Love and Resurrection celebrated for Christmas but ubiquitous to all Seasons. The latter Menorah (Temple) in celebration of Hanukkah through the Lighting and Illumination of the Candles as Hope through any and all Darkness even with the most limited of means, also a message ubiquitous to all Seasons.

We are to be challenged to be Informed by more than our mortal Fears and Flights of Imaginations. There is the great opportunity for Contact with a Greater and Universal Intelligence which beckons us to find in each of us and each other the Faith to see beyond the Temporal impositions and limitations of Blindness and Darkness and Fear of Death. That Love and Justice is the Language of this Great Intelligence.

In these senses the Crosses and Menorahs are themselves informed  by Higher Spiritual and Topological Dimensions...my challenge and privilege over the periods of work with these Pieces Since my Return from Coma and my own Death Experience - to Render from the Virtual to the Real.

Many years of work in far reaching Subjects went into the these Studies now finding areas and volumes of Inter-connectedness and Convergence in these recent Art and the Spiritual Pieces.

Each Cross and Menorah has 6 Faces each configured very differently - the Rectangular and Cubic Crosses with interior and enclosed interiors are Not-Simply Connected while the Menorahs have Candle Wells and Windows and Holes but have Spaces which remain Continuous and Connected.

With the Crosses and Menorahs the Subjects of the Surfaces - among them Physical, Intellectual and Creative and Spiritual I respectively explore Spheres, Cubes and Tesseracts - Stars of David  with their Mirrored equilateral triangles of  uniquely rendered in  range of Exotic, Normal and Hyperbolic Dimensions.
The Color and Paint palette ranges from the Luminous to the Transparent in special mixes rich Golds, Bronzes, Lapis Blues, Coppers, Reds and Blacks.

Both the Crosses and Menorahs find Converge on the Spiritual Components of Message and Form finding expression in their Respective Leaps of Faiths.
Excitingly they Hint to the very real Promise that the  furtherance of such  great Insights are bridged in the Dialog of Inter-Faith Exploration.

That Great Intelligence is Ubiquitous and for all Seasons and Peoples.

The Series Crosses and Menorahs will be Finished Through November 2012 and Limited to 8 Menorah and 16 Crosses which I will Feature in this Blog and Shortly a Special Blog Dedicated to the Experience and the Final Results of the Art Work.
