Talk about a true Marathon Runner coming across the finish line with lots of room to spare. A group of friends and admirers gathered at the magical Yorkville Creperie to wish her a Happy Birthday.

Tim, Michele, Hannah, Maurine, Christine, Andrew (by Phone), Jeff, Woody, Tom among many others in person and spirit attended this Flower of the Ages born on November 4th in 1917 at the end of World War I.

The joy and resolve expressed by the runners and the crowds gave proof of a collective good will so much part of our New York spiritual fabric. On the 10th year Anniversary of 9/11 millions gathered with weapons of choice being Charity, Compassion, Courage and Humor.
I crown Loiuse this year's Queen of the Marathon of Life.
I painted this picture of the Marathon runner in the month after the 9/11attacks as part of larger series asking Where have we been? Where are we now? Where will we be tommorrow?

Well tomorrow has arrived and what difference a week and 10 years in the City makes.
Everything so well expressed by the Marathon, the Veteran's Day Parade down 5th Avenue...everything culminating in that deep and textured smile that Louise so effortlessly brought to all who were fortunate enough to share it.
That's why I share it with you many smiles x now.
